firstly no grey in breeding mates, palomino if you x to another palomino you may get palomino or chestnut or cremello, best way of a guranteed palomino is a cremello ( true cremello from pally parents) is to use a chesynut. So many factors wih the genetics, grey always brings through a chance of grey, but then you end up going into the smokey black, perlino etc etc, i cant explain well but a chestnut or palomino mare will give you a best chance.

IVE GOT PALLY, I PUT A PALLY STALLION ON A PALLY MARE AND IVE GOT PALLY OUT SO IVE COVERED HER WIH A DIFFERENT PALLY THIS YEAR TO SEE WHAT I GET NEXT YEAR. BASCIALLY THEY EITHER COME OUT PALLY OR NOT PALLY SO I SUPPOSE ITS 50/50.

Depends whether you want to risk a cremello or not (Marmite ponies - you either love 'em or hate 'em!) Pally x Pally = 50% pally, 25% chestnut, 25% cremello Pally x Chestnut = 50% pally, 50% chestnut So same chance of getting a pally foal, just depends whether you want to risk that cremello or not. As EmmaJane said, don't use a grey or any other modifier as that might also be passed on. Hope this helps

palominos come i different shades so it depends on what your after either a gold, sooty or creme there is no palomino gene as it is a dilution of chestnut
palomino x palomino = this gives a 25% chance of producing cremello, 50% palomino, 25% chestnut
palomino x chestnut = never produces cremello but 50/50 chance between palomino or chestnut
cremello x chestnut = 100% palomino
breeding palominos also depends on the colour of the chestnut used to what shade of palomino you will get
quoted from the book horse colour explained
