Hi all My boyfriend is looking at starting showing again next season (he did some local level showing a couple of seasons ago with his moms pony but wants to compete more seriously now). Like me, he is going to have some lessons over the winter/spring with a showing judge. He wants to do some local shows but maybe also progress to county level if Ben takes to it ok (he’s a very nervous horse who shakes from head to toe if he gets worried or scared). What classes would he be eligible for? He’s 17/17.1hhs and 11 years old. Ash mainly hacks him out at the moment but will start schooling him/having lessons with him etc soon. Someone did suggest hunter classes although said his colour would probably go against him Also, what colour tweed/outfit would he wear for ridden and inhand classes? He does have a green tweed jacket, navy tie, yellow/lemon shirt, light canary jods, long black boots, black gloves, black cane and a navy hat already from the last time he was showing. Ben aka Big Ben:

try hunter classes, yes I think his colour will not appeal. Is he registered palomino? Do you have his breeding? He might be legible for pbw or pba if he carries 12.5% of either blood. If you are getting lessons then I would ask that persons advice
good luck and have fun

Thanks.
He's down on his passport as palomino but his passport is just a Horse ID one, there's no breeding in there
