Does anyone remember my lovely cat Mr Pickle? Pure white - resuced at 4 weeks old from a hovel. The vets said he wouldnt live, so didnt even start his course of injections until he was 3 months old. He has been my friend, my hat (whilst sleeping), my snuggle companion and a massive source of comfort through our families life. Yesterday he was happy Mr Pickle as ever - aged 17 years, looking fabulous..... This morning I found him dazed and a bit floppy. I rang the vet and they agreed to see him at 6am as an emergency. He was in heart failure The vet was so lovely, kind and compassionate. He helped me send my angel boy off to heaven - free from pain and suffering. That was "the cat of a life time" for me. My son Sam is hysterical as he has never known life without him. For Pickle we know - his departure from this world - was pain /suffering free - what more could you want. For us - losing him is a massively sad time - losing the best cat we could of ever had

i am so sorry to hear of your loss of such a huge character as Mr Pickle, you used to have me in hysterics with your funny stories about him. pets are a part of the family so it is devastating when you lose them. BIG hugs

((hugs)).
Got a real pain of a grey & white cat here - neighbours took it in as a rescue. Moved to us. Now have to lock the front door to stop it opening it, can't stand still coz it jumps up - wakes you up (if you are unfortunate enough not to have found it to chuck it out at night by paddy pawing your nose. Fearless with horses - I was filling hay nets the other night in amongst all the horses & ponies on the bale. Next thing I know the bloody cat is sat on the "wild" section A mare's back - stayed there for about 10 minutes.
Meets us on the lane on the way home & hitches a lift in the car!!
Is any of this sounding tempting? His name's Monkey (very aptly named)

Thank you - I miss him so much and so do the other cats. My son, the dogs and the other two cats, had never known life without him - so its very odd He was the type of cat that whatever room you would be in - he would arrive for tickles. Huge gap in out household - but he had a lovely life and a peaceful passing...... gulp x

Whilst I'm not a 'cat' person I respect those who are and I do feel for you. All 're-home' pets have a way of repaying you a thousandfold, such is their gratitude.

Only just seen this Caroline - thank you - its still very quiet and sad without him We have a new white Chihuahua puppy - as I wanted another white baby - but couldnt have another cat - due to upsetting the others. He would have approved of her. She follows me about like he did. She drink water in the garden out of the same little plastic pot - that collects rain water - that he did (none of the others have ever done that) and she is soft and gentle - just like he was. He was that ONE special cat of a life time - I know there will never be another one as special to me as him - but I am so grateful for all the love he gave me x
