Please note my horse is for sale, not for loan or available for a 6 month trial period. I am sorry to hear (at length) about the last pony you bought being a complete disaster that bolts/rears/ bucks, but no, I really can't swap my safe pony for yours. I have put my location in the advert, so please only call if you are willing to view the horse at my place. Sorry I am not prepared to drive my horse over an hour each way to you so that it is easier for you to view. Please read the advert, I have described what the horse is, a low level fun family friend, if you want something to BE Event immediately, please don't view her. I know you don't trust anyone in the horsey world having been ripped off, but I am genuinely open to you viewing my 5 stage vets certificate, speaking to the vet, speaking to my physio as well as others who have ridden her, I am not hiding anything! When you view, it does help if you are prepared to actually ride the horse and not turn up and say you have a bad back so can't ride in any case. Oh and after you've viewed her, it would help if you had the funds to actually buy her and somewhere to keep her!
All this in only 2 weeks!!!!

I'm so with you on the last bit. I'm looking for a part loaner for my boy and I seem to just be getting people who want me to finance their hobby! One kid recommended by my yo as desperate for a loan, tried him out did really well then the mother starts with the "I'm a poor single mother" routine! She honestly seemed to think I should finance the kid so she wouldn't have to pay for lessons anymore. It's ridiculous. Another girl answered an ad that clearly states the finances involved, tried him out wants to take him on but "I don't know if I can afford it on my student bursary". Aaaaargh, if you know you can't afford to loan then don't waste my time. Which makes me sound really hard hearted but blimey I'm not running a charity for the terminally entitled!

on a slightly different tack, i have advertised for a small good lightweight rider/groom/trainee to ride fab ponies in a private yard on yard and groom, have been very specific in what i want, polite but to the point in the ad and have put 'please read very carefully and ONLY email me cv, pics riding and tel number or I will not reply! this is based on similar ad from last year where all the job seekers have to do is press the interested button and i get a generic reply which means i have to go to the website , find them and reread the VERY little they put about themselves. 99 times out of 100 they are spanish (obviously expecting airfare!) Indian, same plus visa!!! or are 6ft2 and weigh 14 stone, so would squash the ponies!!! my life is too short to deal with these timewasters, i think most of them are of the above mindset. oh forgot ad states VERY clearly NO pets, and they still write telling me they have a complete menagerie cats, dogs, even a parrot last year!!! and sundrie horses. has no one told them a zoo attached to themselves makes them fairly unemployable!!!!

Ha minkara I did the same on yard and groom, given up now! I did have a ft groom and had to ask her to leave, which she did, taking about £1000 worth of equipment with her. I now only have a nice lady come in 2 x mornings a week hence selling this horse. I got fed up of all the daft responses for a groom.

I had someone e-mail me about my pony for loan which clearly states in the ad £25 per week, they requested that I drop the price because they could not afford that the cheek of some people ;D

I had someone email abut my TB exracer who needs bringing on - they had been riding at a riding school for 6months, wanted a horse that could live out all winter and need little maintenance but still expected to go hunter trialing every weekend. When I asked how much experience they had of looking after horses, let alone tb's (just out of curiosity) I got THE best reply ever!
"I have looked after a beautiful arab stallion for the last 12 weeks and have gained many acheivements with him. You can check them out by going onto Horsebook on my facebook page."
She was looking after a virtual horse ...
She was also no child, she was 23 years old!
Some people really astound me!

I am selling a horse, I do not mind replying to emails but one person has been emailing for nearly a week now surely it would just be easier and quicker to pick up the phone. x

iv had soooo many time wasters this past year or 2, some absolute nutters. People agreeing on a sale, sending transport etc then never hear from them ever again, Same person inquired about another pony a few months ago, told her were to go. Wont be selling anything now for a few yrs, hopefully never again!

I never want to sell another pony after this year ..... sold 2 and it took 4 months of hard work and wading through idiots! Feel very lucky that both ponies have gone to lovely homes so there are good people out there .... some faith restored. i do think that most people are short of money and some people are just cheekier about it! I wouldn't dream of turning up to view a pony if I didn't have the money but some people will just chance their arm! I had some heartbreaking moments with selling my Connemara this year - literally waiting at the gate for people who were 'on their way' never to hear from them again. The emotional rollercoaster selling a much loved pony wasd bad enough without that.

Turn it around I have requested 4 times a vid or flat pictures of a horse im very keen it, it ticks all my boxes but the onky pic is of it jumping so very difficult to tell its true confirmation, as they are so far away i want to be sure before i drag my producer half way round the country, to be told 3 times "yeh will send you something" guess what nothing.... I have cash waiting for the right horse, a stable waiting, no trial period required and i can pick them up myself. Some sellers just don't think, how can you sell a horse if you don't have pics, people will ring/text you and waste your time if you put poa on your ad, or you fail to put where you are based.
This is not the first person in under 4 weeks I have asked 3 other people for pics as the ad had none but they sound suitable (im not a photo collecter!) and they have never sent them, either they don't like me or they don't really want to sell and if that's the case don't advertise.... !! Ok my rants over

I am so fed up of photo collectors!! I am the opposite. I have asked a number of people for details and location (WHY do they not put it in ad) and have had no replies.

You should try loaning out a horse and although you tell them he needs an experienced rider who is over 18, I have lost count of 16 yr olds replying wanting a big horse to ride and they can walk, trot, canter and evrything!!! Also just because he is a heavy weight you cant return to riding on him at 24 stone!! I have given up.

I've had the same babybem 3 times from a member on here about collecting a rug from me. I even offered to take considerably less for the rug because I desperately need the space.
Was waiting around for a good 45mims-1 hour both times and had no reply to any of my messages.. This member then has the cheek to try and arrange to collect it again from me for a third time - this time I say p+p only. The response I got "I'm not interested then."
Cheeky little so-and-so.

We once had someone turn up to try a children's pony... asked if we could give the child a riding lesson while they were with us (we aren't a riding school!), didn't have a hat for the child and to top it off asked if they could pay for the pony if/when their items sold that they had listed on EBAY!!!!!

Just spent the best part of a day making my horses beautiful Washed their White socks brushed them and cleaned the tack Why.., because someone had arranged to see them. This was after several emails etc and a change of date and time to suit them. I sat for over an hour waiting to meet them ( they only had a half hour drive) Guess what they did not turn up!! No text no nothing. They did not answer the mobile and they have not replied to my email. Why are people so rude? She has lots of nice photos of two of my horses!!! I am a genuine person selling/ loaning my horses due to work and children How do we stop this behaviour?
