Sorry if this is long winded but here goes .......... I have two home bred neutered boys coming up for 13 years - both were very fit and healthy until my next door neighbours 'adopted' their daughter's cat when her relationship ended. In a nutshell this bl**dy cat is evil and repeatedly attacks just one of mine (his 6th abcess on his tail has just burst) - all his injuries are to his rear end so he is not the aggressor. As we have a farm we have antibiotics (otherwise it would have cost me a fortune in vet's bills). I have witnessed some of the attacks and my boy is terrified. I don't want to fall out with mylovely neighbours - what would you do in the circumstances? I really love my boys but they have just given this one a home. Thanks for listening.

do your neighbours like your cats? If so then maybe you could make them aware of the problem, it does not mean that you will fall out with them. Is this new cat neutered? Maybe that would help. Maybe this new cat was bullied where it used to live, twice I have had ponies who were previously bullied and they have become bullies themselves.
you could try a cat flap with collars that will only allow your cats to get indoors
good luck I hope you get it sorted

Gill - thank you - my neighbours are lovely which is why I don't want to make a big issue of this - yes - the ginger terror is neutered - I don't want a cat flap as he could pursue them inside and I am anti collars for various reasons. If it was a dog attacking I would have a legal stance. I have talked to them tonight to see if we can come to an agreement - maybe they let me know when he is going to out and I will get my boys in.
