Hi all, just wondering which brands if rugs would be a good investment! There's so many outdoor ones, looking for one that is breathable, hard to rip and not pull on the shoulders. I have a tb but she's quite chunky to give u an idea. Thanks in advance

I've found Masta rugs very hard wearing, but sometimes they can be on the big side.

Masta, Amigo, Mark Todd and if you fancy forking out a fortune, Rambo are VERY good.

Axiom - I get them on ebay, think thats the only place you can get them, not sure. A friend had one and they were reasonably priced so I bought one. Am gradually replacing all my rugs with them, turnout and stable rugs. fantastic, cant fault them. used to spend a LOT more on rugs than i do now :-)

Masta Amigo and Weatherbeeta are brilliant and last ages, even with my two that managed to rip all rugs they struggled with these

I had a Mark Todd on a TB and it lasted 10 years with minimal repairs! Also like Weatherbeeta, Amigo's, Rambo's and Masta's but they do tend to be large on the chest so depends on the build of your TB.

Fal Pro every time. Amigo rugs are good value for money too as long as you go for the higher spec ones.

Rambo get my vote every time. Yes they can be costly but they last and keep my best friend dry even on the Pennine Moors.

Premier Equine - really good value for money. We have a horse that destroys every other rug going and these dont mark the shoulder and yu can add layers when necessary

I have just bought a fal cheiften, its 1200D its the lightweight 40 gram ( £59 new off ebay) but they do 200 and 350 (i think) i love it. material feels very tough and so far so good. They are though not very big around the front so if thats worry maybe go up a size. Als o the Takas are very tough too had mine years, anything over a 1200D holds up well with my lad the 600d just rip to easy
