Next year I have two welsh cobs to show One for novice and the other for open including HOYS quals. My prob is trying to decide what society to go with. I did bsps this year but from what i understand it will cost me 30 per horse then an extra 20 for one of them as she is on loan to me for the next few years. So in total it wud be over 100. Nps only do human membership from what i can c so that wud be cheaper. Then theres ponies uk but i dont really dont know anymore. Advice please peeps What would be best plan??

prob NPS from a cost point of view, we do this showing on a seriously tight budget, my daughter would love to do the BSPS as well.

I find it depends a bit on where you are as well. F.ex. we have quite a lot of NPS qualifiers in our area, but not so many BSPS shows. Although for my daughter to compete at our local County show, she had to be a BSPS member. I won't be renewing with BSPS next year though, need to cut cost so will stick with NPS

Tricky one, we have more NPS qualifiers round here but I'm not likely to be able to get to Malvern for the champs, hardly any BSPS round my way and Im not a fan of Arena UK, and we have a few PUK qualifiers and the Champs were easier to get to for me so we did PUK. (They've moved for next year don't forget in your considerations)
Depends as well if you're going higher on to the RI/HOYS/Olympia route. For me last year we had to be members of all 3 as we did FR, Jrs and WHP which are all three societies (not doing any next year phew!)

Thanks guys for your replies. I have zero qualifiers locally as I live on Anglesey. I travel to Cheshire, Lancs and Staffs quite a bit providing the shows are worth it. I think so far PUK is out and its looking like BSPS or NPS. Has anyone had any expereince with loan horses and BSPS?? Keep meaning to email them but have failed so far lol

I would go down the NPS route since it is IMO better value for money. I think you can join BSPS retrospectively if you win a qualifier without losing it, whereas if you won an NPS silver medal it would be passed to reserve champion if you were not already a member....and they are lovely so you would be gutted

I didn't realise that you got personal liability insurance cover with NPS - think I'll join next year instead of the BHS.
I know that with PUK you could (this was 2years ago so unless they've changed their rules) you can join after qualifying too if BSPS is still the same as Guestless has said then NPS is probably your best route and then you can join the other two if / when you qulify.
