Looking at the list of those 6 ponies that are all in the same class I've noticed that 2 of them are ridden and produced by Rosie Skier, she qualified them in different classes and they are now in the same class for next years final! I wonder ifthe NPS will offer her her levy back as she wouldn't have been able to do the same class on both of them and it's the NPS who have changed the goal posts!

Does this mean then that there will be 18 or so extra ponies qualified for HOYS and RI or does it mean there will be 4 classes but smaller classes than when there were 3?

2' for the small section seems far too small to me. How is it OK for them to jump smaller tracks than plaited cradle stakes? Back in the day (!) when M&M WHP was first introduced, I rode the late, great Shetland, Bard of Transy. The fences for at least a season were 2'9 for the small breeds - and yes, I have pictures to prove it. To be fair this was a bit of a reach even for 'Ting' so when it dropped to 2'6 we were thrilled. When my brother March took over the ride the fences were 2'3''. There were quite a few Shetlands regularly jumping clear. We didn't have HOYS or RI then, but the 'big' finals were at NPS and Ponies (UK). Big, long, testing tracks they were too. March and Ting one year, won 6 M&M qualifier championships and then won the final when we got there. It is more than doable!

I can't believe the nps can change the goalposts after so many qualifiers have already taken place and will voice my concern. they have already completely skewed next year's result. surely to goodness they should either have made the change in time for all the qualifiers, or told everybody in plenty of time for 2014. and for those who stood next in line to qualifiers, who would have qualified under the new heights - if it were me i would be very upset!

Well thats us! I am thinking we would have qualified at Romsey in the 133's as I'm sure we were the highest of that height. At Newbury we were second and highest 133 again and Mallardswood Full Monty was 3rd who is another 133 so that would have qualified there. Not sure about the over 143's.

NPS have confirmed that there will be no extra qualifications for the RI classes that have taken place under the old 3 height system.

Statement on FB shows they have been listening to members about the height of jumps: www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=511510422195507&id=193498037330082Part of it says: HOYS will be considering the fence heights for the ‘not exceeding 122cms’ class at a meeting next week, as it is thought by many that the fence heights are too low. We will update you on their decision as soon as possible, meanwhile the NPS Area 13 show will run with 2012 heights for the ‘not exceeding 122cms’ class and the current HOYS heights for the remaining classes.
