After loosing her elderly female dog my mum is looking for another female dog to cherish...
she would prefer an older dog as it would fit in better with her sedately pace of life ..walked twice a day most days, taken to the local shops & watching tv with her in the eve's !.....she is 79 years old and is desperately missing the company & routine of having to look after & walk a dog thks

Why dont you have a look at the dogs home, im sure there will be lots of elderly dogs that are needing loving homes xxx

Hi there, my mum has a retired greyhound (well she never really made it). She is petite, very loving and walks round the fields off the lead. If you weren't too far away Mum would be willing to let you have her, trial her etc and should she not be suited or for any reason in the future she would have her back. She really is a poppet and very friendly. If you would like pictures then let me have your email. We are based in Bedfordshire. Emma

Thank you both ..... milliesmum the Kent one is 5 1/2 hours away.... and the & Bedford is 3 1/2 hours travel distance..I have added that I am based in the Northwest on my advert now Thank you both for replying to my thread very much appreciated  Forgot to say I have spoken to rscpa at Oldham & Salford yesterday and they have nothing suitable ......will try Altham & Manchester dogs home tomorrow |

Try Leigh Dog and Cats home they have rescue dogs. Manchester dogs home, and there is one in Liverpool. good luck.

I was going to suggest Leigh Cats and Dogs, and there is also the Destitute Animal Shelter in Bolton to look at as well. As at local vets as well - I know my vets have been looking for homes for stray animals, and vets often have good connections with local rescues.
