I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me as to getting my horse ready for her first ridden show. She is ok going with the rest of the horses but when you pull her out to do an individual she refuses to listen to me and does her own thing, which obviously in a show would be very embarrasing. Any hints or tips apart from practice practice practice?
Thanks ;D

Do you ride with others at home where u could all line up and keep practicing? We get together and have practice sessions at our yard. One good tip for when they've had to stand in line for a while, is to ensure they've woken up and are ready to walk out of line. This really helped my daughter who's doing first year off lead as she knows when the pony before her goes to do show to give her a pony a little niggle, that way she's not having to kick kick in front of judge if pony has relaxed too much.

Maybe as said above try riding with other horses before shows to teach her how to act around other horses.
