Dogs been out for a walk this morning and left at 9ish as the vet was coming to the horse. Got back about 12ish and this is what was down the door frame!!! She is 17wks staffy and thought she must have ripped a claw out but cannot find a mark on her. Have checked her paws, claws and mouth as she is loosing a few teeth but nothing!!! There is no blood anywhere else, not in her bed or on the floor?? She seems herself, has had normal wee's and poo's! I'm baffled!! Any ideas??

That high up the wall looks like a paw, pad or claw - does she have very dark pads/claws? Maybe she did bleed from her foot, but its clotted and you can't see the abrasion as its small?? Looks too high up to be from her bum or other areas!! I'd just keep a close eye on her eating, drinking and passing wee and poo in case its something weird and wonderful (not much idea what though!)
Do keep an eye on her poo just in case it is something iffy, but unless the pic is deceiving, it does look very high up for poo.....

Just had a wild thought - could she have had a tick, rubbed herself on the door frame and squashed it???

No worries we had a major panic when we came home to blood up the walls the curtains everywhere and it was only a tiny cut on his tail. Xx

Came home to this today!!! Even worse!!!
Still no sign of any cuts or anything!! Taking her to the vets this afternoon but I'm thinking it must be a nose bleed with her being stressed because she is being left on her own but we have had her since she was 9 wks and nothing has changed in her routine.
Has anyone any ideas???

try the black pad bit on the outside of the elbow, my dog often knocks this and it bleeds. you have to really look to find it bleeding though as its rough and normally heals quick.

I'd vote with the tooth idea, it could spread far an wide mixed with saliva.

Well just bak from the vets and he was a bit baffled to really. We have come to the conclusion its either throat or nose. When he pressed her throat it did seem sore so he things she may have burst a little blood vessel howling when we go out. He gave her an anti b jab and just said to keep an eye on her. Temp and everything else fine he gave her a real good looking over and couldnt find anything externally and all her teeth seem ok. Thank you for all the possibilities. I have managed to change my hours 2moro so Im only out a few hours again and also going to try her with some calm tablets that I got from the veys the other day for the fireworks so hopefully she will be more sleepy when I go out and not howl and bark so much as she really needs to rest it or it will just keep happening. After tomorrow we're off for the weekend so don't have to leave her.
Will keep you all updated :-)

It's quite high up on the wall, as staffs are quite short. Could be from her mouth/nose etc or possibly paws. Have you thought about setting a camera up and going out for a short while? A while ago I kept going home to a browny substance stuck to my wall and i set my cam up and it was my dog dragging her butt along the wall lol! Hope pups okay. Maybe get the vet to give Her a once over. x

Strange one! Hope you get to the bottom of it.
Have you asked a neighbour if she's been heard barking or howling when left alone?

Yes the neighbour just says she barks for a little while then settles down. Good idea about the camera. Think I'll deffo look in to that one over the weekend if it happens again tomorrow.
