I usually wash my rugs in just water and pressure wash so rarely need to reproof but I have just bought a couple of rugs off ebay that say they need reproofing. They are good brands so I am hoping they will come up ok with some tlc but does anyone have any particular reproofers that they swear by? Or I will just go to MVF and take the one I see! Also one of the new rugs is a Rambo turnout (the big purple one) it was described as heavyweight. I already have one of these which I adore but this new one feels very different- the fabric feels quite thin and soft compared to the substance of my old one- is this a change in the product (my old one is ancient)? I am worrying that it has been washed inappropriately and lost the internal waterproof lining... which no reproofer will help Thanks everyone...

Is it the wug? Does it have a half neck? If so they come in different weights so they may have got the weight wrong. If its the purple rug with green binding then I don't think these are made anymore sadly so I'm not sure on the weight of them.
I always hear good things about nixwax for reproofing.

Thanks Belfa- it's the one with the green binding- the older type- it's not just the filling its the outer fabric that feels much more flexible.
