have you tried any of the muddy marvel products on your horse, these are ment to work the best as washing with hibiscrub and applying cream softens the skin too much. My fell pony has greasy heel which is similar to mud fever and I would strongly suggest using the muddy marvel products.

Wash legs with warm water and hibiscrub, dry off and ive found that aqueos cream is great to lift off the scabs etc, then for turn out something oily on the legs, Sulphur powder mixed with pig oil works wonders, paint it on.

I find udercream very good, but whatever you use when its cured an old remedy is to put a coating of vaseline on and it should,nt come back. good luck.

two ideas here first put udder cream or any other anti septic cream , then cover in cling film bandage and leave overnight , take off and most of the scabs just scrape off ,does work 2nd sulphur and lard apply all over this is also very good seen it work loads of times and sulphur is dirt cheap from chemist then just add lard dirt cheap from Asda

The horse i loan has got it poor lad! I get a bucket of warm water, soak, then you can easily pick off the scabs, then create a good barrier with either sudacream or any sort of vasaline THEY'RE BRILLIANT! x good luck with it all x

I have always used udder cream ( smeared thickly) then cover with liquid parrafin with my old pony. My new pony had a spot of mud fever and i cleaned the legs with hibiscrub, i kept him in, removed scabs and squirted on Megatek spray, its amazing, hair grew back within a couple of days!! Well impressed!!x

my C has just started with it...i did what we have done previousley on ponies with mudrash/fever and scrubbed all the scabs off with hibiscrub and warm water and then plastered udder cream on them, now everytime he goes out he'll have udder cream plastered and and it should stop the mud getting to them. x
