I have given up 2 nights of my annual.leave week to help out and cover at another nursing home, never been here before and no idea about the routine, I've been left in the office and god knows where the other staff are Can't stand it when they do this, did agency work for many years and it was a frequent occurrence! Its very rude, I'm very bored and no one online on here or FB to talk to

That is awful, they should at least keep you busy as you have given up your nights when on annual leave.
Hope you found someone to talk to.

No I didnt It's such a weird place! No routine at all, they keep saying they will work one floor then they swap over 30 minutes later What the hell was all that about? I'm back there tonight but with different staff so hopefully they will be better

Do you have to stay in the office? Can't you do rounds and check on the residents?

Do you have to stay in the office? Can't you do rounds and check on the residents? That's what I wanted to do but the d**n staff just kept vanishing and by the time I'd caught up with them, they had finished. The staff tonight aren't much better Never mind only 8 hours to go! My manager has been managing this place as well and I'll have to have a word with her to speak with them about their infection control - or lack of! Not seen one of them wearing gloves and have to keep reminding them to wash their hands
