I'm afraid they have been dropped by RIHS and replaced by the RIHS PP Heritage mini classes. You gain some and lose some! I think they reviewed the entries in qualifiers and decided as they were low to replace with Heritage minis. Another reason to keep the entries up on the PP if you want to keep them!

It is a shame but any i have seen have had very low entries so i can understand the reason why they have dropped them . Ive said for a while now i dont know why they have the SP PP and not M&Ms as there must be loads more home produced M&Ms . As we have a shettie who obviously we cant plait up to do classes this change is a result for us . Chloesmum we will try our best to support these classes and probably would not have joined BSPS next year if it wasnt for these classes .

I have Just enjoyed five wonderful year in show pony pretty Polly and lucky enough to qualify every year !!! I CANNOT believe they are taking these classes away I think it's totally wrong !!! How can ordinary people compete with the producers xx they do a brilliant job teaching and showing us the way forward but I really think its another nail in the coffin !! It all costs soo very much and to be honest a lot of us only do this as a hobby and now they are going to take it away from us xx we are out of these classes now but I'm really sad for everyone xx

Because the RIHS will not put the classes on as they don't have time in their timetable. They put on x amount of showing classes and time is allocated accordingly so when extra classes get added it is inevitable that some will be lost, they also look at the qualifying entries to make that decision hence the loss of the PPMini SP classes. Every section does have Pretty Polly sections if you compete at the BSPS Championship shows because that is where they can put these classes on, so you can still have the opportunity to compete as Home Produced.

We saw this on the BSPS web site and it is fair to say they would be in the hands of RIHS and the perennial levy numbers. The Showing Register is mainly for Amateur owners and riders we would like to do something to encourage the ' home produced' plaited ponies especially the tinies - we will be having special rosettes and prizes for the highest placed Amateur members in our HOYS pony qualifiers at our own spring and summer shows but I am sure we could do more....
Any ideas welcome ! ( I expect we will now be shot down in flames !!!!!)

can not understand why they have just scrapped them, i know the qualifiers numbers have been low but the RI class is always huge, you would think they might of tried something different like an arm band in the open to qualify for the pretty polly at least that why the home produced get half a chance. Lets hope the judging is going to be fair !!

Lets hope the judging is going to be fair !! The qualifiers will not be as lucrative for Hickstead I would have thought. If there are only 5 entered at £8.50 levy, whereas an M & M class would have 10 entered that would be £85 for Hickstead rather than £42.50!

Spot on L&lmum - it is in the hands of Hickstead and they will look at the numbers based on the levy they receive. Without a doubt that will go up next year with M&M LR & fr as I would precict the entries will be huge. Of course the entries at the final of RIHS would have been full as everyone who qualified presumambly went so a full class based on the number of qualifiers - however I suspect many were also in the Open LR/FR as well. Perhaps the change will give more HP people a chance in the Heritage, always a tough class to qualify for the open section in? TSR I am sure your efforts will be appreciated, same as Equifest and BSPS;NPS also still have HP or Amauteur classes and championships so as I said before hopefully something for everyone!
