We have had our pony for 2.5 years (now a 5 year old), he was a rescue case. He has been fab to catch up until last weekend - I can catch him no probem (in fact as soon as he sees me he is in a trot straight to the gate) but when my Father has tried to catch him since the weekend he refuses to be caught. My Father is the person who mainly feeds him and lets him out every morning and feeds him and puts him to 'bed' every night but for some reason the pony will now not let him catch him

I am not normally and advocate of treats but would giving him a treat make him come to be caught. A carrot or a horse treat like equibites

Thanks both. I went up with Dad tonight and he caught him on the second attempt so will try again tomorrow - he is just pushing his luck I think. He in his own except for 'his' chicken friends with some ponies across the lane - I know not ideal but we are thinking of having another from a rescue center as a companion. A friend has said to leave him out for one night without supper and he will soon change his mind about coming in:)
