I am looking for a high calorie dog food, not dry as he won't eat it. It's for a JRT that is extremely fussy but also very active, he never stops! He is 5yrs old, entire and no plans to castrate yet as we are using him. Any ideas?

Dont know how much you want to spend, but vets can recommend good quality fortifying dog foods. I know ours sells a high cal product from Royal Canine designed for dogs needing to gain condition.

Try Arden Grange, you can ring them for advice, they are in Bournemouth area. They do tinned dog food now.
Good luck

Have to say I think Chappie must be quite calorific, if I want our oldie who has a sensitive stomach to gain a few pounds I add a bit to his Burns pork and potato.

I'm a huge Burns fan, fed it for years and swear by it, but it is designed in part to prevent them getting too fat, and I find I need their high calorie one to keep mine as I want them rather than looking too thin! Both sighthounds though, don't know if that makes a difference.

i think we have decided to use him now and have him done after xmas, he's so cold all the time ! He won't wear a coat and to be honest he is such a good ratter that i fear he will get snagged on something. He has fresh chicken veg and pasta with Dog Spec in it but we will see what the new year brings (hopefully a fuller figured dog!)

Why don't you try Raw food. It really is great. I use natural instinct. If you call them they will offer advice and guidance and the food is superb x Good luck xx

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.
