Well this evening we decided to go for a couple of pints and a game of pool down the pub 1ooyds down the road , son and OH, 5'oclock, should be ok before evening rush hour ,,,,,, we were so wrong ,,,, 5.45pm and we are home . In the one ear we have a painter decorator , who can only speak 2 words without using the 'F' word , and round the pool table a mother who thinks its ok to let her 2yrold to have wrestling games with a friend , accompanied by high pitched screaming , which she found ammusing and laughed at . Son cannot abide unruly kids , along with myself and OH, and particularly i cannot stand foul language , call me old fashioned but i dont see why you have to put up with this early in the evening, can people not refrain from swearing , and mothers control their kids ?? needless to say we left , and are now waiting for our takeaway to be delivered ,,,, if they can find the right address this time lol moan over from a pintless , hungry HG'er well it gets better , not only did the takeaway write the wrong address down AGAIN ,, when the food got here it was luke warm , and no sauce fro the samosas AAARRRGGGHHHH , well have rung 3 times tonight and complained , and they have promised a free curry next time ,,,,,not sure we will be using them again !!!!!!!!!!

I fully agree with you, the fastest way to remove me from a shop is to place a screaming brat in it! Why do people take out children that behave in that way? Also what about the pub landlord? Why did he not speak to the foul-mouthed vocabulary stunted individual and the parents? Surely he/she must realise that other people are being driven away from his pub?

We are so lucky the the landlord of our village pub still thinks kids should be seen and not heard!! They are welcome if they behave but as soon as they get rowdy they are asked to leave. He is a great believer in pubs being for adults only which for me having no kids is bliss !!

I do so agree, I was shopping in the supermarket and was debating on something in the fridge area (echoes!) when a lady leaned over with a child in her arms and it screamed so loud, I almost fell over. I looked at the lady who smiled at me. I said didn't that scream hurt your ears? She said no she was used to it.
I would have choked that kid before I took it out in public. Why don't girls understand that they are responsible for the manners and conduct of their children? How are they going to 'school' their kids into adabtable, acceptable adults if they let them do absolutely what they like when they are toddlers?
My ears are still ringing, that mother must be deaf.

I had 3 kids all surrounding this one table.. 2 screaming.... without being rude can they not take the child outside/away!? just to calm them down? i dont do kids......dont like them as they just bug me. ;D give me horses and dogs anyday!!

Iv got a 2 year old and i would never let him behave like that! IF he cries or kicks off while were in a restaurant or anything ill take him outside (due to sheer embarassment )

dont get me wrong , we used to take our son out when he was younger , and if the pub/restaurant is child friendly thats fine ,,, BUT i cant abide parents or kids who dont know how to behave in public,it doesnt bode well for the child in the future, i dont dislike kids , but i couldnt eat a whole one LOL

I've always taken my children to eat out, they know how to behave, they remember their manners and they are most certainly NOT allowed to run around and be a nuisance to others. I think the problem is often that some parents don't teach their children any of the above then can't understand why they show them up in public. Then of course there are those that just don't care.

Went out with a group to a restaurant. As one party left I said thank goodness we can have some peace now. One of the fathers heard me and stormed back in to shout and rant at me!! We really thought he was going to hit someone. Could see why his children behaved as they did. A little consideration goes a long way.

Bring on Supernanny!! Bad behaviour and bad language - be it from an adult or a child - should not be tolerated by a landlord/manager of a pub. If it was a managed pub I would be tempted to complain to the chain who owns it!!
