What size cart and harness would you buy for an 11hd pony ? something my son has always wanted to do is drive his pony , had a chat with a driving friend lately and she is willing to help us break to drive , some of work already been done long reining esthablished and dragging a tyre behind which he took all in his stride.... but am now on lookout for all the gear , does anyone possibly have any for sale North West area...would be a fab Christmas pressie for him as he cant decide what he wants this year ...pm me with anything , or ideas where what is best place to buy new . Just a small 2 seater trap and harness.
Also any advice would be welcome , is 10 too old to teach a pony or are we best teaching our 5 year old ?? thoughts and any advice would be appreciated as this is all fairly new to us.

Age doesn't matter - it's all about their temperament. You can buy nice Tedex webbing harness from Rideaway for just over £300, it's a good make and will re-sell easily if you decide not to carry on. Other makes can be pretty rubbish. A 2-wheeled vehicle would suit fine - you might find something on the BHDTA website discussion forum where they have a good For Sale section www.horsedrivingtrials.co.uk/
