i have a 20year old tb who is returning to light work after a injury. All going well however today she jogged from the moment i got on for the whole hour we were out on our supposed walk?! its not a new habit ive known her to jog before when were getting near the beach or other exciting places and sometimes when were headed home. but not from start to finish!!!!
My usual method is to egnore her or flex her neck a bit if shes really pushing it which keeps it controled she really gets her knees up looks like a bad attemp at passage butwhen the exitemnt ha passed lol fitghting with her tend to have a negative effect and she has been known to do little rears when ive insisted she walk.
shes usually quite a good girl though i have recently changed her bit(wilkie to ns loose ringlozenge) and with work th last few months weve done abig move and bck again when it didnt work out

Have you tried riding from your leg and back to block her movement and giving the rein so she has to go into the rein and not evade the bit by overbending and setting her neck

my old girl used to jog from the moment i got on her when bringing her back into work , for 6 weeks , used to drive me mad , i tried everything , but to no avail , in the end i gave up , she would also do it when she got a bee in her bonnet , which was a frequent occurance , im not sure that there is answer, from my experience mares do get worse as they get older , but good luck

Have you changed her feed recently? Or the amount of turnout she gets?

every time she starts to jog push her forward into a working trot, bring her back to walk, see if she is then better on a loose rein or a contact, however every time she jogs then make her trot on and work
good luck
