We have a fab 10 year old shetland for my son, who could do with a bit more work, and I am interested in getting him doing some taks about the farm - harrowing, pulling a cart for feed bags etc. - not driving per se, as I think I could do with some exercise too, and thse would be useful things for him to do, but I am guessing getting started would involve similar exercises and training.
I have been told that Hamish has pulled a sledge inj the snow happily, but I think it was just a question of sticking it on and hoping!
I have never done anything like that before, so would appreiate any advice and tips about how to get started - books/DVDs, what kit I would need and where to get it from, anyone we could go to for lessons - we are in the Scottish Borders, very lose to Northumberland.
