Its not far from staffs borders maybe lack of suitable affordable venues in staffordshire ?

Well im in derbyshire and many venues and derbyshire based shows are more than an hours drive for me also. An hour to a venue is not far !

This Winter show has been at barley fields for atleast the last 4 yrs as we have been to them

horses405 - the venue for the NCPA staffs branch winter show in January remains the same as it has been for several years & prior to that it was at Solihull EC which is Warwickshire.

Branches have to source the most suitable, available venues.

During the winter this necessitates finding a venue with indoor facilities, which is not already booked up for the required date, has everything that is required to hold the show and finally is also at a reasonable cost & an easily accessible venue for competitors to travel to.

Sadly, which ever venue that is used will not be local to all.

However, I am sure the committee have done their best so that you, and other members & non members, can have a good day out to get 2013 showing off to a fun & happy start.

Barleyfields is a good venue offers indoor and 2 outdoor facilites

Thank you Janet for replying to the query that has been raised. Barleyfields is 7 miles from the Staffordshire Border and offers us everything we need for a show at this time of year, including the use of a warm kitchen for our judges and enough parking and viewing. We have held the show there for at least 6 years to my knowledge to give everyone an early run out.

We do use other venues and held a show at Alsager in November again on the Cheshire/Staffordshire border which hopefully accommodated our members that were at the other end of the County.

Our Summer show is held at Rodbaston which is in Staffs but we cannot get winter dates for this venue as we have tried.

If anyone can come up with a suitable staffordshire venue that has everything we need for a winter show then I would be very interested to hear. Other than that I think Barleyfields is an extremely suitable venue that is very close to staffordshire.

Can I remind everyone that if you need memberships or animal registrations processing for this show I MUST have them by THURSDAY at the latest as I am not working on Friday & you will need to include a FIRST CLASS SAE to be sure of having them back.

All that I have received to date will be posted tomorrow (Wednesday)

We are having to cancel on Sunday as we are expecting some nasty weather in Derbyshire - plus the outdoor schools are Barleyfields are frozen.

We will look to rearrange - if at all possible, so that we can still offer the winter qualifiers - so please watch this space.

Just to confirm weather permitting this show will go ahead at Alsager on 3rd Feb.
Judges - we are just waiting on confirmation But Mrs A Squires will be judging with 2 new judges - I will let you know as soon as I have the details.

Can anyone tell me will ring 1a be the large indoor and 1b the small indoor or will the large school be divided into two.
