Just been looking at the listing on the NPS website for the 2013 shows.
I see the code for the WHP Starter Stakes but unless I am going mad I can't see it listed against any shows. Are there no qualifiers for it this year ?

alot of shows dont hold the starter stakes not sure y,and dont forget alot of shows wouldnt have sent of their affiliations as yet

Not sure where you are but the SEWPCA show in Surrey (the summer one ) im sure they had starter stakes last year  |

I think someone said it was discontinued this year, but I'm not 100% certain about that. It was a class I had hoped to do, so I'll be disappointed if it is.

I do so hope the NPS hasn't stopped the Junior and Starter stakes. It is the main reason we were going to join the NPS this year. I think I will have to call them before I Send of my membership.

Go to COMPETITIONS on top tab.
Then look down the side and choose SUMMER QUALIFIERS, then click on here on main page area !

They hold hardly no starter stakes qualifiers and the finals only have single numbers in the finals!!!!! There is only one down in the south west in cornwall that we missed as weather warnings so went up to wales! They have one at area 25 summer show.

Just been going through the rule book to get the worker heights for this year and it says that while Starter Stakes can be run at area shows there is no longer a final at the champs, this is perhaps why nobody is bothering to hold the classes. Also noticed that in each whp category it is now the top 3 ponies in a qualifying class that qualify for the champs. This is quite a big change isn't it, although quite a lot of ponies will get duplicate tickets it will mean a lot more ponies in each final. think it also said that qualification can't go below third.

all classes the top 3 will qualify no starter stakes final anymore which is a shame perhaps the starter stakes should be a winter qualifer and final at spring festival???
