I do competitive agility with my 6 rescue dogs. Are you just doing fun stuff? One year is the lowest age that accredited clubs will accept dogs for jumping. I began competing when I stopped competitive jumping with the horses. We have gone from struggling to get a clear round to the main arena at Crufts. It's very addictive. In fact my diary is filled to September already with not only horse but agility shows where we camp with 100s of other nutters it's great fun for all breeds. Although many horsey folks think the agility at Olympia is just for fun, it is in fact a big final for which competitors have travelled the country all year to qualify for out of 1000s of competitors! An agility competition can have over 300 dogs in each class, of which only 3 or 4 will qualify for the semis

Your Bassett must be more energetic than the one I saw today - it clearly didn't want to walk any further so just laid down on the pavement - FLAT out!!!! Hilarious!!! He eventually got up (grudgingly) and carried on his walk. Did make me LOL!

I do agility and will be at crufts this week. I am based in Cheshire and am running beginner agility classes with an obedience club. It's great fun :-)) my pooches love it. Good luck with your dog :-) xx

My dogue de bordoux x loves it!! We've only done it a few times. My staffy hates it, shes scared of all the jumps and would much rather just chase a ball :-)
