About to introduce youngster (5) to a double bridle.....dont want to upset him so advice please on do's n dont's Current in a Nuue Shule lozenge...have had a bradoon made up of same mouth piece, is it best to start with fixed or loose sides on weymouth? thanks in advance

If it was me I wouldn't put a 5 year old in a double but if you really feel the need to I would make it as similar to his snaffle as possible

So long as the horse/pony is going well in their usual bit and accepting it correctly, most will happily accept a correctly fitted and used double bridle. Personaly, I would use the traditional fine, loose ring bradoon to begin with and whatever weymouth you have. You can then adjust in line with the horse's reaction/response to the bits. Good luck
