Hi, does anyone know a reliable service for shortening show jackets? i have a maids jacket but ideally would like it shortening in length 1 inch only ?

go to a local good quality men's taylor and see who does their alterations

Hi, i thought of that but as an expensive jacket i would prefer a " horsey tailor" and i am assuming showing selection etc don't take jackets back for alternations .

Personally I would rather it be fitted on the wearer than sent away mail order, I used to work for Austin Reed in the saddlery dept, the bespoke taylors used to come to do the alterations, for the length the wearer could sit on a saddle so that the effect could be seen

what make is the jacket? if mears ect they prob would take it back as they are made in-house... if its showing selection just phone hilary and askher who to send it too the same with Jill at Designer Browbands...
