Hi I am going to enter my son in best rider under 5 / M&M on LR / Best childs pony classes and wonder what colour jacket to wear. For M&M I know we should wear tweed but unsure what colour to wear on a pale strawberry roan mare. For the other classes I wondered if he should wear navy with a suitable tie / bow tie. These are low level classes but would like to ensure we are correctly turned out. The pony is a tiny Welsh A. Thank you for any advice!

With our strawberry roan Section A my daughter has worn an olive green tweed, usually with a pale cream shirt and either bottle green or navy tie/ribbons etc. Browns are also great with strawberry roans but harder (and, therefore, more expensive) to get hold of! Have fun with your son and pony!

Thank you very much for your post.
My son has been riding for a couple of years now (when he fancies!) and loves going out and about with our pony. We are so lucky as she is a very genuine pony and has given us so much fun since we bought her in July of last year. Thanks again for your advice on the jackets.

Definately go with brown if you can as it will compliment your pony so well. I wouldn't bother with a navy jacket unless your going to shows that have an evening performance.

Ah I'm old fashioned so I HATE brown. I'd go for a greeny colour but to be honest I think a well fitting jacket is a greater priority over colour. I LOVE (a woman of extremes) the new elephant grey hats and think they go well with blue/ blue green tweed jacket. But DO have fun xxxx
