My neighbours elec fencing was stolen in Surrey last year, I used a permanent marker and marked along the electric rope, also the uprights with an engraver and permanent marker. Photograph your energisers after you have engraved and marked the grooves with the perm marker, it will make it very difficult to use or re sell if it has your initials and post code on all over it. I did the same with rugs, a large white painted postcode is a good deterrent, as a temp measure I used Tippex but it has actually stayed on in the rain, mud and washing. Mind you if my horses ever escape in their postcoded rugs I doo hope the postman can get them through the letter box! I hope these ideas help

I know it's probably a silly question but can you claim on your insurance? Might be worth a try - in the meantime I send my sympathy for you and your horse.
