I have a 14.2 which has had lamanitis. When I saw him at the end of last year he was beautiful. I purchased him over the phone in may this year. I was assured although he had been roughed off it would only take 6weeks to get him in condition. Previous owner denied he had had laminitis but to cut a long story short, although he is putting weight on you can still see his ribs has any one any ideas or has any one come across this. I have been battling since end of may .

how old is the pony? our old one is ribby but that is due to the fact that he has cushings, its a typical cushings look, although young ponies can get it too

try him on top spec fibre or top spec balancer he will need as much fibre as you can get him to eat and it should be ok with the laminitis as it is usually fructins that cause laminitis and fibre is needed for a healthy horse

Have you had a worm count done? My inclination would be to do a worm count (not just broadspec worm).
If that is all okay, I would then phone the Topspec helpline - I have always found them fabulous at helping with nutritional problems.
Best of luck, sorry can't be more helpful than that.
