I think I know where he is but am not sure of his show name (know it is an Ambershire pony) but the pony is definately Monty. He is in the Blackpool area and has been with the same family for many years now and is enjoying retirement.

Hi, i am the owner of monty, i have owned him for 10 years on the 29th of this month, he has been such a fab pony and has taught me so much. he is a right lil character and is very much enjoying retirement. We had to retire him a few years back as i got to big for him and he hasnt got the best back legs anymore. He got lami a few years back aswell but we got him through it and it was bought on by Cushings which he has treatment for. hes a very expensive pet thats for sure but money doesnt matter when hes concerned!! If you would like to come and see him at all that would be fine by me. we are in blackpool on a nice little quiet yard. Fran and Monty

Hi Fran, I hope you dont mind me asking but, would it be possible for my daughter and I to come and see Monty, wee bought him as a 3yr old unbroken, from the late Colin Rose. He was a chararacter then I must add but, a very naughty one wee had lots of problems backing and schooling him, my daughter bless her was only 12 when we got him, and he used to climb the stable walls and roll his eyes. but, wee got there in the end with alot of patience. Wee done exstremely well with for the two seasons we showed him, qualifying him for the novice the first time out, going to Peterborough and ending up third out of 96 ponies beating alot of the producers, it was truly amazing he gave us his all, and we absolutely adored him we cried buckets when we had to sell him because of circumstances. We have a fabulous big phots of him with my daughter Kelly on him at Peterborough hanging in our lounge to this day. I still look at it to this day and think where is he? Is he still alive? I still love him to bits. Could you let me know if its alright to come and see him whenever its convenient of course. Sue R.

yeah by all means come and visit him, he most probably wont be in a great shape when you had him but then again he is 24 this may he still looking fab though. We got monty when i was 9 and he was my 1st ponie as i think i mentioned earlier, i didnt no that much about riding and showing then as id only been riding 1 year, god it took me about a year and half to gel with him, he always use to buck me off haha and becuase i was like 3 ft nothing when i use to try and put his bridle on he found out that if he put his head up i wouldnt be able to reach little monster he was haha. If you have any photos of him when he was younger to bring down that would be fab if you wouldnt mind? My mum sent letters to all his old owners (the address's on his papers) to see if any1 could send us some info and 1 person did send us some photos looked like he was at a local show and he looked fab. He is definatly still alive i can assure you that although we have nearly lost him a few times once with Colic (he use to get that quite often .... touch wood he hasnt had it for a few years now, )and once with lami, but we got all his medication on track and got him all sorted so now he just happly plays out in the paddock and when he is in, he loves making a racing track around his stable by stable walking (not to sure if he did that when you had him) it is lovely to hear from one of his old owners from so long ago! Only regreat i have is not taking him to bigger shows but i wasnt experienced enough but we did take him to alot of local shows and he did me proud and we went to summerford park ncpa i think it was? I no what you mean about the photos being up in the louge our house is covered in pictures of him and a few from my old Section C. Where abouts will you be coming from ? Fran

Hiya dipsey, yes i have a daughter who rides, she is 7 now, had a bit of a hectic time recently as she was bought another section A and also a dartmoor, are you still after a jockey? i think we bought monty off you? He was my fave pony of all time, i still get emotional now when i think of him, i loved him to bits and will always have fond memories of him, even when he did ditch me - which was quite often i soon found out that he didn't like cats or loud speakers:) He was such a cheeky boy and you could never be mad at him, i remember whenever i fell off him he never ran away, he would just look at me as if to say what the h*ll are you doing down there. franekins - did you ever get some pics from my mum? i remember her showing me the letter and telling me to dig out my photos, i'm sure she posted them. I hope monty is well, and will try and pop down to see him sometime soon xx

Hi Fayeandash wee must of sold Monty to you going on his records where and when he was sold,I was at a friends house last night and we went showing together when we had Monty, and her daughter had a 12.2 show pony. I am sorry to hear he was abit naughty for you, but, at the end of his time with us we thought he was over all hios silly tricks, but, obviously not he was storing all his divilment up for the next jockey, little devil. At first we had a terrible time backing and schooling him we had to have some help, we sent him to Nicky Maynard for a few weeks, as my daughter was only 12, and although she was a good rider,he was quite a handful even for her, Nicky soughted him out for us shes was amazing with him, needless to say he wasnt impressed as he couldnt get away with much with Nicky. And from then onwards we never looked back with him he tried it on occasionally but we were well up to his tricks by then, but, I can honestly say he wasnt a nasty pony just full of mischief, I think he had abit of a hard time before we bought him, I think he was better on a one to one basis, were at Colins he was one of many. But like yourself wee loved him to bits and still do. I think I may have a jockey for my 12 h.h. F/R but Im not altogether sure yet, I did have afew enquiries to my advert for a jockey, and one lady said she would get intouch after the Christmas hols, but, up to now heard nothink. What does your little daughter do, can she ride is she confident enough to do F/R and has she shown before. Let me know. If your soughted then Good Luck for the coming season.

Are we talking about my Monty here? lol bit confusing. Fayeandash yeah we recieved the photos i actually looked at them again the other day. If you were talking about my Monty not liking cats i no he doesnt lie dogs, haha he chased my friends in his field when he use to be allowed to graze was a funny youve been framed moment! Monty hates the wind, plastics bags, leaves silly things but doesnt mind big loud noises and big masive lorrys haha

He wasn't a naughty pony, like you say just very cheeky, he never scared me, i thnk he probably tried it on a lot with me - and got away with it he was my first 'proper' pony, before i got him all i had ridden was school masters, but we did eventually get it together and had loads of fun and success, since then i compared all my ponies to him and none of them lived up to him, he was all time fave and always will be. dipsey - my daughter is a very confident rider, she's been doing first ridden since she was 5, at equifest she got 2nd in the first year first ridden in good company, like i said she has m&m's so only really competes in the m&m classes, and on the odd occasion she rides my mums show pony in the lead rein, have u any pics of your pony and where abouts are you?

haha yeah i no what you mean about that, after about 2 years i learnt to to stick to him so when he was about to spook (at a leaf) i just got the problem solved before he even knew about it ;-) there was 1 time we were hacking out (this was whilst he was semi retired so i hacked him bare back) and it was abit of a windy day and a double decker bus was pullin up2 a bus stop a leaf blew at montys feet and that was us nearly taking a bus ride haha, i still managed to stick him was very funny though. little cheeky monkey. and now hes gettin older hes gettin more and more cheeky coz even if he does something wrong i ant bring myself to shout st him, hes to cute and little vand funny. ive put a picture of him up in the picture section lookin away though, il get on the normal computer 2morw and try and put some better 1s up and il take some new fresh 1s 2morw so you casn see how hes doing!
