Can you pinpoint what it is about jumping which worries you?
Do you have an understanding instructor to help you?

If you don't enjoy it then don't do it. I think Horse Riding must be the only sport that people force themselves to continue with when they're not enjoying it, albeit a certain discipline - I think these people are very brave. I wouldn't do something that scared me! I would suggest sticking to polework for now and perhaps raised poles and build it up gradually. Don't rush yourself and don't push yourself too hard so as to knock your confidence. It's usually very useful to have an instructor you trust on the ground with you as they will know when to put the pressure on and when to take it off. Good Luck and enjoy

I agree no point doing something If your cared , try polework and mayby a few grids take your time and don't push yourself too hard but just remember what's the worst that could happen not alot over a 2ft pole ;-)) x

After having a fall i also lost all my confidence riding in general and just did alot of flatwork (around 6 weeks solid) with no jumping at all and then just did alot of small jumps to build up and after around 3 weeks of just doing poles, crosses, small uprights they started to get bigger - i think when it comes to jumping its the trust in the pony that is really needed to be able to be confident jumping - if you know that your pony wont really try and stop at the fences and loves jumping then that should also boost your confidence a bit aswell:)

its a totally irrational fear ive never fell , i dont know if im scared of falling off or just because it new to me . i used to be the same in ridden classes my nerves would just spoil it for me . but after a few shows i was fine and now i get no nerves at all . i did some grid work and popped a few small jumps yesterday and feel a bit more confident .
