Hi
Just though i would share this with you: today our Jack Russell "Peanut" escape from the stables and ran home (approx 1/4 mile). As luck would have it a neighbor next to the stables saw him running away and told my SIL as she leaving the stables for her dinner.
So with a quick Left turn from the stables she drove straight to our house, to find him in somebodies arms and just about to get into their car. When SIL asked them about him they said "what is lovely dog he is" and then handed him back over, but where not very happy about it...
Today Peanut when to the stables with his collar on (always has it on), with a name / address tag on it and he's mirco-chipped. His hotter dog jumper and his rambo rug on top on that (he's a very nesh dog)
The thing is, would the people who caught him, rung us to inform us that they have found our much loved pet or kept him for themselves
Just because he's a JR, he does not rat, he's been "gelded", he enjoys the comforts of: Sausage on F&C night and Seaside trips, ice-creams on days out, his own personal sheepskin rug and duvet, a hour in bed morning and night with Mummy & Daddy (but would love to spend all night in bed :-), more toys than Toy R us and enough chews and treats to keep 100 dogs happy )
We have found escapee dogs before, and if they have had contact details on them, we have rung and they have collected. If not we have inform the dog warden who have collected them
Just though i would share this with you, as the Subject states, a lucky day for us..
