Just need to moan, woke up to a shed load of snow!! Which is fantastic especially seen as hubbys away, means I've got to snow plough and grit the road to the yard so liveries can get to do there horses (live on a steep hill), snow plough and grit the yard, four horses to do all with two small children in tow! Arrrggghhh, actually feel like crying!

Thanks pinetrees, it's days like this I wish I had my horses on full livery somewhere so I didn't have to worry about anything. All will be forgotten in summer though.........whenever that will be!

That will be on June 23rd. Only on that day, however. Remember, we are now rationed to one day of "summer" per calendar year now. The remainder of the year is split into the "wet and slightly warm" and the "wet and bloody freezing" seasons, which last around 6 months each.

Don't even get me started on hay, straw and feed prices going up AGAIN! This year, the grass in my hay field should be growing by now instead it's a waterlogged mess, a farmer I know told me this cold front were having now is here to stay until MAY!!! Hay is usually given its first cut in June......obviously wont be the same this year. Mind you last year I only got one cut too because we struggled to find dry spells to drop it......fed up!!

Kayleigh Know how you feel, we woke up on saturday morning to find drifts all over the yard, fields, stables and the lane down to the village. We have been stuck in till today!!! struggled to get hay and had to borrow a neighbours. There was so much snow I couldnt empty my wheelbarrow and then had a pony coming yesterday so spent the day gritting the lane to make if safe to just walk down. then to top it off today managed to get my haylage deleivered and was filling nets when the haylage store door blew shut and locked me in!!!!!!! I could have had a tear at this point!!!!! I honestly cant imagine the price increase in hay, feed that is if we ever manage to get any so bizarre. Was also stuck in week before cos my little boy was poorly with chicken pox!!!!!

Oh god don't start me on the chicken pox rant that's a whole new one.
To cut It short, loads of cases at littlests nursery, neither of my two have had it and we go to Florida in two weeks! If he gets it and we can't go it will be awful!!!

I hope you have travel insurance Kayleigh? If not, its not too late to take it out, as long as neither have symptoms of chickenpox......

Yes we have a annual policy thank goodness....but my parents are coming too so that wouldn't cover them, they would have to go without us which would be gutting for both us and them. Fingers crossed hes ok, I've pulled him out of nursery for the rest of the week anyway, trying to minimise the risk a bit but I'm guessing if he's going to have caught it he would if caught it by now
