hi, we breed labradoodles, so have a varitey of lab girls. any halti/ shoulder harness works really well. also do you watch dog borstal? they have a fab way of turning 180 degrees with no warning and after doing that several times the dog walks quietly at heel. have tried it with a 2 yr old bit*h who we rescued from a dreadful kennel home, and within 45 mins she walked relatively quietly beside me, have you thought of puppy classes, they are also really helpful, and teach puppies discipline that you can practise at home. some breeding lines of lab are unfortunately manic, and very difficult to change, they will always be so active. i have one that will fetch a ball, leaping high in the air to catch it, for hours on end. she came from a home where she was never let off the lead, and lived in a small maisonette with tiny yard. the loveliest bit*h but has free run of 25 acres, and i don't think she would have ever settled in a ordinary home situation. cheers

thank you for the info,, i have considered classes but she is very dog aggressive and then becomes un controllable, im guna go and get a haltie, i will take her with me and have it fitted, mt hubbie is taking her on her walks at the moment as i get worked up before i go as she knocks me about before we leave the house jumping on me etc,,which doesnt help,,we have only had her since august, shes taken my horses place,we lost her to colic, she was a rescue also,,i do love poppy and she is great company when my girls go to bed she puts her chin on my knee while i watch tv etc,,its the going out which i find very distressib, but please if anyone lives nearby and fancys avin us along on a walk to give a bit of moral support that would be great

My dog didn't like the tennis ball thingy, but we have something called a Ring Zinger from Pets at home, it throws a rubber ring which she absolutely loves.

Hi, Please watch the dog wisperer, he will help you with the aggression, it is insecurity and comes from you. You are treating her like a baby and you have to be the dominant pack leader. Put your lead under the cheek bones on her neck (high) up and do not allow her to move forward without your permission, when she does, she should be slightly behind you and head raised. Check her back all the time when she is not focused. I am sure that will stop her, and have a positive attitude.

we have a boxer hes now 7 but when he was a pup he went to dog training classes cos has he got bigger and stronger we couldnt hold him and just the same was aggresive and bark mad when another dog came in sight when on lead,we put a holter on and what a difference! yes he still tried to get to other dogs but we could easily hold him, and he still has it on(except hubby who can hold him),the strange thing about him is that when he did get out the garden he PLAYED with other dogs,it must be a protective insinct towards their owner xx
