I please can any breeders give me some advice, I have a 22 yr old mare that has had2 foals. I tried for a third last year but was relate in the year as only foaled her foal in July. She didn't take and was told she has cysts in her womb. I am not getting a clear answer as if this would stop her taking? I want to try once more this year but really not sure. Please any info would be great full x

The egg has to attach itself to the wall of the uterus, the more scars it has, i.e. previous births, miscarriages and cysts prevent this. Therefore she will be more difficult to get in foal.
Did you have a NFFR or NFNF?
Also its like trying to get a 45 year old woman pregnant, unlikely but not impossible,

My old D mare was diagnosed with a uterine cyst one year, by the next it had disappeared! And by a very experienced stud vet, no mistake. So you may be lucky and have the same happen to you.

I think there comes a time with older mares when you should stop breeding. I have a now 23 year old mare who last foaled at 21. Had I continued to breed every year with her I wouldnt hesitate to put her back in foal. But she has had two years off and I think I could end up with problems if I attempted to breed with her again.
