Some mares won't bag up until the last hours before they foal, I wouldn't worry.

My mare has had a huge bag for 4 weeks and no foal. I have no concrete dates so I'm just twiddling my thumbs. Hope everything goes ok for you

Some mares bag up and foal the same day as Elmere said
I suspect it could be due to the weather though, if you want a mare to produce more milk add cocoa powder to her feed, a tip my Vet gave me,
foals are cooked when they are cooked
hope all goes well for you x

I have 3 mares all overdue now. Two of them are 3 weeks over and only one has started to bag up. Another mare is 10 days over and is bagging up nicely now. All a experienced broodmares and are usually text book but I think this weather has messed them up this year ! They are all connemaras so I think they are waiting till it warms up, it's still so cold especially at night I have even routed some foal rugs out just in case. Good luck everyone

I hope so, she doesn't even look pregnant now and her udders shrunk loads since yesterday, I've even walked round the field looking for a foal. Maybe it's just shifted into position

She dropped a couple of weeks back the changed shape then dropped. And has now gone slim. Maybe I'm taking too much notice. Lol

I have a mare who will be 11month this week and hardly any udder development at all. But she has gone to near 12months before, though i usually expect them to foal at 11months and 10days. Her foal is very active at feeding time i love that, boinging foals poking out the sides. They must know something we don't these mares!

should have updated, i went to my mare saturday morning, huge bag wax and dripping, this was a sustantial change from friday night at 11. she foaled we think around 12-1230 early saturday night sunday morning. i missed it. so dont know how late or even if she was late just no no change till the same day she foaled. i knew she was going to foal that night, i stocked up on bedding etc and the madam did it when i was having a snooze beautiful filly foal, pics in breeding chit chat.

Congratulations my mare is due on the 14th of this month and just avery tiny bag, in the past she has bagged up weeks before , used my welsh B stallion this year so it will be a lot smaller foal so not sure if thats made any difference, not worried yet though as she has gone up to 12months in the past.
