I have a 4yo Section B who was doing a bit of lead rein but has now become too sharp so is being schooled by myself and a few girls. He's got a tiny mouth so is in a 41/4 inch snaffle at the moment but is far too strong and sticks his head up in the air, he's learning to canter and jump and is becoming a job to hold back. Anybody got any bit recommendations or have any of that size for sale.

I think this is a schooling, training, physical issue as opposed to a bitting issue at present. I'd certainly have the teeth, back, tack check before anything else continues. I'd then look at slowing down the canter and jump work, make sure plenty of transitions are introduced, keeping everything calm and sensible. If he rushes, back to walk and start again.

Back to basics I would suggest - encourage good self balance & engagement in walk & trot if these remain consistently good.
Throwing heads up & hollowing or getting strong in the hand can be a sign of a horse or pony struggling to get themselves balanced with a rider on top.
He is still only young at 4yo & may not be strong enough to move up to canter & jumping without trying to evade the bit.
I would be very cautious of changing to a stronger bit as it is a maturity issue the chances are you'll just get into a stronger battle.
Try loose schooling if you have the facilities to establish the canter without a rider on top. You can add side reins.

Pony has made a massive improvement, he's started to relax and listen and is coming down nicely, no head in the air anymore. Just needed more time i guess
