didn't want to hijack the bagging up thread. just out of interest as there were quite a few on there that were a few weeks overdue with no sign of a bag. how long is it ok for a mare to go overdue for, before we need to consider veterinary inspection?

I've had one go well over 3 weeks with no problems, she foaled & cleansed all by herself.

My friends mare went nearly 13 months from last service date. No problems with foal but she didn't cleanse. And got toxic. I'm still waiting for mine

Mine went just over a year with no bag and no signs at all, didn't even look in foal but out popped a healthy baby and they were both fine

We are now 354 days massive but no signs. I did have one that went over a year once. I'm putting it down to the weather I'd rather it be warm haha

thanks for replies, very interesting! I did have the figure of about 4 weeks in my mind, but was concerned we look to be heading over that! on the plus side, it may have warmed up by the time I need to sit up
