so, in october 2011 we rescued a ginger and white cat who was in a very poor condition, covered in fleas etc.we got him neutered, de flead, wormed, vaccinated etc. I named him George and he is such a good boy and a lovely friend for my labradoodle doggy.... but we sold our house last november and havent found anywhere suitable to move into yet are barely any houses are coming up for sale in the area we want to live....meaning we have had to move in with my grandparents who are retired farmers who HATE cats and refuse to have him in the house. We had no option but to place him in a cattery (which is lovely) .he has now been there nearly 6 months and it totally unfair on him, and we have still not found a new house to buy. The cattery bill is already £950 and has turned my free rescue kitten into a very expensive cat! ... my problem is noone i know will have him tempoary as they already have cats / dont want a cat. mums really not happy with spending so much money on him and he has been in there long enough already
anyone got any ideas??? i love him lots and would be worried sick about him living with someone else etc but what do i do? can anyone help and give him a foster home?? Nottinghamshire

Glad to hear your good news, wishing you and George happiness in your new home. Think I will change the stables in to kennels and a cattery, FAR more money in those than horses!

Pleased it's all worked through. So he stayed in the cattery? Worth the wait he sounds a gorgeous ginger boy. I love gingers they are real characters and loveable.

Great news, and well done for sticking it out despite the expense. I help out at a local rescue and am amazed that so many people seem to treat their cats as disposable items. Move house so cat has to go, rather than find somewhere they can take the cat.
I would urge anybody who has the room to look at helping to rehome a cat in need. We are about to foster a couple of hand reared farm kittens until they are socialised enough to find a forever home. It is so rewarding and there are so many ways that people can help out.
