Don't want to sound like I don't agree with you both as I do, that pony should no way carry 15 stone, but having looked at the wording of the advert, I don't think they are saying it HAS carried that weight, but pointing out the fact that shetlands are great weight carriers, therefore reporting would have no grounds. I may be wrong, but that's how it reads to me?

I agree Tywood, they are weight carriers but I thin advertising that people up to 15 stone would be a suitable jockey just encourages cruelty- 15 stone would completely ruin that pony's back and cause all sorts of problems x

No my reading of the ad is that they would allow a max of 15 stones, which is far too much. At my riding school, the weight limit is 14 stone and they use the 16.2hh weight carriers for these clients. Only children ride the Shetlands. I would say max 7 stone or thereabouts on a Shettie? Most adults are too tall anyway and look mildly ridiculous......

No end to it is there. Gives out all the wrong signals. No thought for the pony.
Mildly ridiculous Nia....

I personally think it means it could carry up to 15stones in a cart - it says it has been broken to drive? I'm not sure anyone in their right minds would put 15 stone on a Shetlands back?

That's why he's leaning up the wall then ;-) sorry!!!!
I know it's a serious discussion at the moment about the weight of riders on horses ATM even in H&H this week there is an article maybe it's a typo and they meant 5 stone!!!
