Hi there good old Blighty from an ex BSPS area 15a member who is now living in sunny Joburg, South Africa & loving it.
Dealing with and learning about diseases and things that aren't so common as in UK! Tics, Billary, horse sickness, endless dust, flies that lay eggs in the horses eyes...... & riding right to right not left to left!
The great things about living here are; I haven't swept a yard in years or mucked out! Haven't seen mud fever since I've been here and funnily enough we don't get those nasty little black flies that bite in the ears and under the tummy.....
The worst things are...... (not going to tell you cos no one likes a whinging pom!)

My daughter was in SA for a year doing the same thing and leading treks, she now has a company in Namibia doing desert and safari treks ,she loves it too...dont think Ill ever get her bum in a show saddle again!! Enjoy!!! Sounds like your daughter is experiencing a wonderful time in Namibia - I hear it is a stunning country and will get there one day. I know there are some big warmblood breeders there, I have ridden some really nice horses bred at the Voigtskirch Stud. Don't know how much showing goes on in Namibia though! Probably not too much as far as i know.... So i doubt she will be back in a showing saddle any time soon! trekking etc doesn't do a lot for the classical riding seat, nor does polo grooming - i did that for about 5 years in OZ and USA. Still trying to rectify my seat and leg position! And yes - am loving HG and catching up on all the showing gossip etc...
