Good Evening all,
I am just writing as I am doing hacks this year with my small hack an i am wondering if he will just measure in because i want to do small hacks an he would look daft in the large ones, i am wondering what else I can do to make sure he will measure in ?

Apart from practising standing him and measuring him so he is used to the stick on him, nothing. He will measure what he will measure, and then you have to decide where to go from there. If you know he is too big, there's no point trying to squeeze him into a smaller class, as soon as you start doing well someone will object.
Just take him in the class he belongs in, be it small or large, if he has to go up a class a good judge will look past his height.

Make sure hooves aren't too long. We had one arrive with very overgrown hooves and by the time they were the correct length the horse was measuring almost 2 inches shorter!
