Why oh why do garages have to take the total p**** when they see a women walk in the door?? I took my Shogun to my usual garage back in june, it had a full service, inc new brakes at a cost of £314. It broke down on the A1 THREE days later while towing my mare back from stud in Yorkshire . It turns out they didnt bother to change the obviously worn fan belt . I took it to another garage last week for its intermin service it turns out they didnt change the oil, oil filter, diesel filter in june and the back axle had no oil at all in it . Thay charged me for doing all of it though £314 b****** quid!!! . Poxy ruddy garage i now wish i had got the RAC out after it broke down, had it inspected and then sued for my money back and damages ie stress to my pregnant mare

Thats awful, I would get in contact with the original garage and ask for some/all my money back!!

I would go to trading standards...get the 2nd garage to do a report for you so you have some proof then get trading standards involved

Not sure a fan belt would be part of a service but if they have charged you for the other items and you can prove its not been done you should have a good case

The garage i have used this time is my dads bosses garage [he runs a car lot] he doesnt want to get invovled and he has done my car for next to nothing, im taking it there in future. I was going to contact trading standards but it now only my word agaisnt the garages, i should have had an RAC inspection when it broke down in june. I will still contact TS and see what they say. Bet this goes on all the time, when i worked as a vet nurse my boss would charge for treatments that were not done. And yes i left and reported her to the vet gov body, but they did nothing and covered it all up. The world is full of A*** holes who want your little bit of money.
