Absolutely gutted we sold a mare two years ago to DEBBIE MURDEN at RHYFEL STUD where we were promised she would be loved and have a good home! And these were the photos posted on Facebook of her last night, I have offered to buy her back but she won't sell her back!

I sold her through Horse Gossip so the woman responsible for this mares condition is active on horse gossip and I wouldn't want anyone else selling their horse to this stud and feeling the way myself and my mother feel today! I know that it's our own fault for selling her to her but we thought she would have a good home.

Weight can be sorted out fairly easy the feet are the main worry as long feet can cause so much damage . Really hope they sell back to you!!! Poor girl needs some TLC.

Appaling, you must be devastated, it is so difficult when you rehome as you try your best but sometimes people are not as nice as they seem, hope she sees sense and let's you have her back, how did you get the picture?

So sorry, I too have been in this situation, many years ago and got a mare back. Hope this happens for you too.
Sometimes I despair of the human race, what is the woman thinking to let her get in that state, and be feeding a growing foal too.
I feel for you and the mare too, poor thing.

Did she not agree with you that the horse was looking abit "lean" to put it nicely ? And how on earth does she think those hooves are ok I don't understand why she thought to tag you in the photos ? Is she seriously proud of the way the mare is ? Madness xx

How awful! Keep trying to buy back, or see if a friend can approach that she doesn't know, but you give your friend the money? Would that work? I hope you can get some help for this pony xxx

You should see the rubbish this woman is spouting on her RHYFEL STUD Facebook page and people are actually defending her! God help anyone who uses this stud!

The poor mare, how many more are like that especially as she has a Stud?? Totally disgusting to think that's fine.

I CAN CONFIRM THAT WHW HAVE BEEN TO CHECK ATLANTA TODAY AND THE FIELD OFFICER WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE STATE OF ATLANTA OR LADY (DEBBIE MURDEN'S 'RESCUE' HORSE)!! ALL 3 OF THE WATER CONTAINERS WERE BONE DRY AND THE MARES WERE WET THROUGH OVER HEATED WITH TURNOUT RUGS ON & NO WATER IN THIS HEAT! THE OFFICER WAS NOT HAPPY AT ALL AND SAID THE MARES FEET DESPERATELY NEEDED ATTENDING TO TOO, HE'S GOING BACK IN 3 WEEKS AND TO SEE IF IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE! HE SAID THE MARES FEET DESPERATELY NEEDED ATTENDING TO AND HE SAID HE EXPLAINED TO DEBBIE MURDEN THAT ITS PARAMOUNT A LACTATING MARE HAS ACCESS TO WATER AT ALL TIMES!!

I hope she takes heed to what they say for the poor horses sake. At least she is being watched now.

I have a mare in my barn now due to drop at any time and she doesn't look like that, she looks like a bull lol Some people will try to kid themselves forever won't they! If she'd slackened her belly would be lower down as well & I'd only expect to see the last 3 ribs at worst, not the entire lot. I don't remember my mare looking like skin & bones before she foaled either & she endured one of the worst winters in 20 years with elbow deep snow and blizzards & out full time until the last month when she came in to the foaling box overnight. She also didn't drop any weight when she was lactating but then she was getting something to eat to help her - your poor girl looks like she's not been fed for months.

awful situation for you but was good job she did post on fb as you wouldnt have known and then rspca wouldnt have got involved so at least a tiny bit of good has come from the most awful situation , i sold my first pony on way back in 80s assured good home for life and would get first refusal if resold they were my nextdoor neighbours they resold him 6 months later and told me after then 6 months later he had been pts with laminitus pedal bones had gone through for over a week apparantly i was distraught its so sad when sold on and homes dont turn out to be what they promise xx really hope you do get her back see how goes with rspca as may end up being taken and you may find you could get her back via that route xxx
