13hh beautiful bay mare. Pandora will be six in a couple of weeks and we are very tentatively thinking about parting with her. We bought her as a just-broken four year old - knowing nothing about how well regarded Chagford ponies are in the showing world.
My daughter's old pony had died and we were getting at our wit's end trying to find something. We just treated her like a 'normal' pony and took her on a full week's Pony Club camp. She has won unaffiliated showjumping, plus the only whp class ever entered, taken part in dressage and even gymkhana games!!!
She goes to the Pony Club rally every week, hacks out and is easy for my daughter to lead in and out etc.
My daughter has got the show jumping bug - thanks to Pandora's lovely big jump - and while this super pony can do it we keep coming back to the fact that we are maybe wasting her. We would keep her for my son, but he is much more of a hacking/pony club rider and would never show her.
Pandora has a scar (injury as a three year-old) that we have (in our unprofessionaly way!) successfully hidden with nothing more than boot polish. She was bred to be a county standard shp but we feel her real potential lies in whp.
She is a blank canvas really - but with the Pony Club, hacking, local shows etc now under her belt.
P.O.A - the dream home is one that will take what we have done with her and let us know about the showring successes that would doubtless be around the corner with the right home.
