I am looking into buying some new stable mats, has anyone ever used Mayo Mats and if so which thickness they do a 20mm or 40mm is there a benefit to using the thicker ones

i have had my mayo mats for 10 years now, i bought the 20mm and they have been brilliant, dont think you need the thicker ones unless you have really big horses, ours are fells and the mats have lasted really well

Thanks for that, we have a Highland and Welsh so think I will go for the 20mm mats, how much bedding do you use on top, at the moment we are using Aubiose with a deep bed but thought for summer I may change to mats and use Bliss Citronella, but not sure how much bedding I will need to use.

we just use shavings and put a thin layer in a corner, they soon learn to go on the shavings. i use 2 bags a week for 2 fells
