I have a cracking little sec a gelding that I am producing to be a lr for my daughter, prob is he can be a fussy little toad and think he could do with some ring time with a rider who can show him who is boss ! Trouble is I have no other rider beside my daughter and have been thinking of riding him myself. I have seen plenty of a's ridden by adults but they tend to be stallions ! I am 5'4" and 8 and half stone size 8-10. Would I look ridiculous riding a gelding in an open class (ps he hasn't been cut all that long !) X

They aren't just stallions that the adults ride, small ponies are more difficult than the larges.

It's the done thing nowadays, I think you would be fine, and it will certainly help your Welshie's education. We have done this for out Dartie and I hope to get a younger jockey on him next year.
