I am posting to warn people to be really careful if dealing with Sophie Blanchett. She is from Ashstead in surrey.
A friend has paid for a saddle from her (not through HG), which has so far not arrived and it would seem if you google that she is not the first person to have had this problem.
This person answers wanted adverts for saddles (on FB and other advertising sites), asks for money by bank transfer, then the saddle does not turn up. I'm not sure whether she uses HG.
Please make sure if you have dealings with her that you use paypal (NOT the gift/personal option) and then your payment will be protected.
Thank you. Just wanted people to be aware.

Shocking to hear that she is still at it,i was one that she ripped of on here last year,kent police know all about her might be best if your friend contacts them

What was her username on here? Be useful to the mods if they can trace an IP address they can make sure she doesn't join again under another name.

Yes its unbelievable that I went throught the whole process only to be told very apologetically from the Police that they were unable to bring a case against her! and to hear that she is still doing it is a joke really!

Hi this happened to me!! I have all her details and fathers number ! He gave me my money back.. There is a Facebook group called beware of equestrian fraud by soohie blanchett and the police have a case against her which you can add to. Feel free to contact me on 07989444030
Also you need to report her to action fraud like everyone else,, she has done this to so many people.

Also police now have so much evidence against her! Even through the Internet alone so they are going after her but anyone else who wants to report needs to get intouch x

Why would either of these young girls stop(or they are the same person)! There does not seem to be anything the police can do about it! Whilst I understand we should use paypal (unless its someone we know) they are still breaking the law surely? Sophie Blanchett conned me out of some money for rugs I reported it to the police, gave interviews, my money in her bank account, emails from her agreeing to send rugs etc.. I was one of many and the case was dropped! There is no deterrent for them!

Unbelieveable! How can they get away with it? I had somebody ask me yesterday if I was a scammer... hadn't read this but I dont like paypal- it can be a double edged sword and I have had some bad selling experiences with it, BUT love buying as they ALWAYS satisfy the buyer!So don't worry Hannah, your jacket is packed ready to go!Think I'll insure it at my cost too as its worth way more than the 20 pounds royal mail will cover as standard.

Isnt it a shame that people like her ruin it for everyone who is a trusted seller and buyer. It does make you think twice about buying. However i have to say i prefer to pick up whenever possible or have people that can collect, that way its cash and then no worries that people con you out of money or goods. Maybe HG could do a seller/buyer rating so that we can all do a quick check.
She will get caught or someone will find her.

No idea if.its the same person using a different name but a Joy Alkins has just tried the same trick with me, answered my wanted advert for a saddle asked for a bank transfer so i said i would rather pay by paypal, she didnt have paypal and was going on holiday the next day and needed the cash quickly, i was not fooled!!!

Joy Alkins answered my ad for a saddle & sent photo & info & agreed to reduce the price by 1/3 for a quick sale as she was going away for 3 weeks. Payment was never mentioned as I said I would collect & pay cash. I said there was no rush & I could collect from anywhere (she told me she was in central Leeds) at any time. Lots of excuses were made - having read the posts on here I now know why! So she didn't get any money from me but I feel for anyone who has sent payment in good faith.

I'm so glad I have just read this as I'm just in an email conversation with that exact women (Joy Alkins)! She has contacted me in relation to a wanted advert as she conveniently has the exact saddle I want at a very cheap price! I asked if I could collect the saddle on Monday and give her the money when I collect it. She said her husband wants a £150 deposit transferring tonight! Certainly won't be sending any money.
