I spoke to my shares owner a few days ago, and we were chatting about showing, as you do! we then got onto the Equifest subject, and was talking about who she would be taking. My Current share is sadly up for sale, but due to the current market noone is interested, which is good for me cause i love him to bits! So she said to me, if he's still here, would i like to take him. my god, id never smiled so much in my life! I am going to be taking a show pony to compete in hand, so im doubly excited! What classes can i do with him?! i don't particularly want to do the qualifying ones, however im not fussed. He's a Traditional gypsy cob. Stallion. Dun. 14hh. He's gorgeous! Just wondering what i could entering him into? if (touch wood) he hasn't sold! Also, what should i be doing in the ring? (sounds silly i know, but Ive just been practicing my in-hand with the show pony.) Im hoping to get out to some small local shows just to practice, but id like a bit more info on competing at the bigger shows. Thank you all in advance!

Tbh- you may be pushed for classes- as Equifest is an affiliated show and a dun traditional cob cannot do ridden cob classses, mountain and moorland or coloured traditional classes. However Equifest does do a traditional cob inhand class that you could do. There is also a ridden dun class aswell as an inhand dun class- but these seem odd to me- as traditionals will be up against showponies, so judges preference will just dominate- might be worth doing your research to find out what the judges of these classes like/show/breed. Good Luck and enjoy

The inhand class seems a good idea to me. I'm new to the showing thing so its all a little confusing.
I will do some research like you said :-).
& thanks, I intend to enjoy it hehe!:-) x

If he does ridden and your a riding club member they have riding club horse - trad/ native type. Also if you can do an equifest qual they have Part bred - Trad type which I imagine he could do. He sounds lovely, hope you have fun!
