training a dog to do agility had been something i have always wanted to do, and as i am 16 in september i have asked my parents if i could get a puppy which i could train to do agility once old enough. I would be looking for a toy breed, as we have a pomeranian already, who is 5 and i would train him to do it, but he has behavioural issues which mean he wouldn't be able to go to training classes and other things as easily, but he could also do with the company of another dog. I'm unsure as to what breed i would look at getting, i thought about a toy poodle, but there are many toy breeds which are good for it! any advice or anything would be appreciated! The puppy would be very well looked after by me, my parents and my sister is also a vet!

I do agility with my Jack russell and we both enjoy it, I have been to some agility shows and I watch it at crufts and you do see many toy poodles and papillons doing agility really well. I would say that a toy poodle would be a good choice although I have never had one they are said to be very intelligent and willing to learn. Have a look at they Crufts channel on youtube as they have loads of videos of small dogs agility. I would also go to Agility shows and talk to competitors, go to your local agility club and talk to the trainers about suitable breeds. Talk to some breeders as they will have a good knowledge of the breeds trainability and success in agility. Good luck, I hope you find a suitable dog.
